I have begun out my pump on my Hayward filter for my above ground pool. It ran hot off and on for a while, the thermal switch knocking it off after 2-3 minutes of operation. Eventually it quit working and started humming. That was the effortless part. I replaced the capacitor and it commenced working after more, albeit hot sufficient to trip the thermal switch as above. Sooner or later it quit operating again, and now the hum (or buzz?) is much louder than before. What can this be? IпїЅve checked the voltage setting and it checks out. The capacitor is new (replaced twice now. The new one is virgin). The impeller and motor shaft turn freely but the pump just wonпїЅt start. Bonus points if the fix also fixes the overheating concern.
